Purchasable Items
These items can be purchased during the game with the gold you earn. Purchasable items are used one time and can not be saved from game to game. While some items are lost when a unit dies, some items are enduring, and last for an entire match, regardless of how many times you die. Endruing items have an orange border and tooltip below.

Persistent Items
Persistent items are obtained by earning Achievements, referring other Savage 2 players, the Rune Builder, or purchasing the Collectors Edition. Every Savage 2 player has a persistent vault used to hold these items. Your vault has 5 item slots and you can bring 2 into a match.

There are four types of persistent items, each providing a different bonus modifier. The item types are Rings, Amulets, Jewels, and Runes. Persistant items may have up to three benefits, which are passive regeneration, passive increases, and active replenishment.

Passive Regeneration
One of the benefits of a persistent item is passive regeneration. This attribute is signified by a specific color and increases your rate of regeneration for a specific attribute. Red items increase health regen, blue items increase mana regen, and white items increase stamina regen.

Passive Increases
The second benefit of a persistent item is a passive increase. This benefit will increase a base attribute of your player and is signified by an animal. The Bear increases health, the Dolphin increases mana, the Rabbit increases stamina, the Beaver increases gold income, and the Armadillo increases armor.

Active Replenishment
The last benefit of a persistent item is an active replenishment or buff. The "consumable" portion of a persistent item has a long cooldown and can either give a short lived additional bonus (ie 15% more armor for 30 seconds) or instantly replenish health, mana, or stamina. The Heart increases health, Brain increases mana, Lungs increases stamina, Shield increases armor, Dagger increases melee damage, and Feet increase speed.
